In Prahova hunting action occurs under the law and with the principles of ethics of hunting, here are held hunter shooting competitions, dog hunting, fishing.

The hunting funds of Prahova County are administered by the Association of Fishermen and Hunters Sportsman Prahova, which has three subordinate clubs: Hunters and Anglers Club Ploiesti, Hunters and Anglers Club Urlaţi and Hunters and Anglers Club Vălenii de Munte.

  

Hunters and Anglers Club Ploiesti manages eight hunting funds, all located in the plain area.

 

  • Hunting fund no.2 ,, Berceni " - Is located in the Plain of Ploiesti, in the average meadow of Prahova river. The average altitude is 130 m, the minimum is 90 m, while the maximum altitude - 150 m - is reached in the traces. In terms of territorial administration, this hunting is situated the villages Pucheni, Rafov and Berceni in Prahova.

 

  • Hunting fund. no. 3,, Vadu Parului " is located in the Plain of Ploiesti, in the average meadow of Prahova river. The average altitude is 130 m, the minimum is 90 m, while the maximum altitude - 150 m - is reached in the traces. In terms of territorial administration, this hunting is situated the villages Dumbrava, Albeşti-Muru and Trestieni in Prahova.

 

  • Hunting fund no. 5 "Fulga" is located in the Plain of Ploiesti, in the average meadow of Prahova river. The average altitude is 130 m, the minimum is 90 m, while the maximum altitude - 150 m - is reached in the traces. In terms of territorial administration, this hunting is situated the villages Fulga, Parepa, Tomsani, Colceag and the city Mizil in Prahova.

 

  • Funting fund no 12 "Rafov" is located in the Plain of Ploiesti, in the average meadow of Prahova river. The average altitude is 130 m, the minimum is 90 m, while the maximum altitude - 150 m - is reached in the traces. In terms of territorial administration, this hunting is situated the villages Pucheni, Râfov, Bărcăneşti and Berceni in Prahova.

 

  • Hunting fund no 13 "Negoiesti" is located in the Plain of Ploiesti, in the average meadow of Prahova river. The average altitude is 130 m, the minimum is 90 m, while the maximum altitude - 150 m - is reached in the traces. In terms of territorial administration, this hunting is situated the villages Pucheni, Brazi and Barcanesti in Prahova.

 

  • Hunting fund no 14 "Habud" is located in the Plain of Ploiesti, in the average meadow of Prahova river. The average altitude is 130 m, the minimum is 90 m, while the maximum altitude - 150 m - is reached in the traces. In terms of territorial administration, this hunting is situated the villages Tinosu, Şirna and Poienarii Burchii in Prahova.

 

  • Hunting fund no 15 "Manesti" is located in the Plain of Ploiesti, in the average meadow of Prahova river. The average altitude is 130 m, the minimum is 90 m, while the maximum altitude - 150 m - is reached in the traces. In terms of territorial administration, this hunting is situated the villages Manesti in Prahova.

 

  • Hunting fund no 16 "Strejnic" is located in the Plain of Ploiesti, in the average meadow of Prahova river. The average altitude is 130 m, the minimum is 90 m, while the maximum altitude - 150 m - is reached in the traces. In terms of territorial administration, this hunting is situated the villages Buda, Strejnic, Târgşoru Vechi, Ariceştii Rahtivani,  Filipeştii de Târg and the city Ploieşti.

 

The main species existing on these hunting funds are hare, partridge, pheasant, deer and wild boar. Hunters interested can try, successfully, hunting at the species species quail, woodcock, dove, dove and lark, these species finding optimum conditions in different areas of the funds mentioned above.

 

 

 Hunters and Anglers Club Urlaţi manages six hunting funds: 6 - called Baba Ana, 38 -  called Bratia, 39 -  called Plopu, 40 - called Iordăcheanu, 41 -  called Urlaţi and 42 - called Malu Rosu.

 

Hunting funds of the Hunters and Anglers Club Urlaţi are located in the north, north-east of the county Prahova, in the lower and middle hills of Curvature SubCarpathians, grouping Subcarpaţii Buzăului, respectively Niscovelului hill and Prahova Subcarpathians, respectively Bucovel hill. The average altitude is 320 m, the minimum altitude is 100 m and the maximum of 550 m. In terms of territorial administration, these hunting funds are located across Urlaţi, Mizil, Boldeşti Scăieni, Valea  Călugărească and Bucov, Plopu, Lipanesti, Podenii Noi, Apostolache, Gornet Cricov, Iordăcheanu, Albeşti Paleologu, Ceptura, Tataru, Călugăreni, Jugureni, Fantanele Vadu Sapat, Gura Vadului and Baba Ana.

 

  • Hunting fund no 6 "Baba Ana"

The main species of hunting interest existing on this fund are the rabbit and partridge.

The main species of hunting interest of passage, on this background are quail and skylark.

 

  • Hunting fund no 38 "Bratia"

The main species of hunting interest existing on this fund are deer, wild boar, rabbit, pheasant and partridge.

The main species of hunting interest of passage, on this background are thrush, kokoshnik and woodcock.

 

  • Hunting fund no 39 "Plopu"

The main species of hunting interest existing on this fund are deer, wild boar, rabbit, pheasant and partridge.

The main species of hunting interest of passage, on this background are thrush, kokoshnik and woodcock.

 

  • Hunting fund no 40 "Iordacheanu"

The main species of hunting interest existing on this fund are deer, wild boar, rabbit, pheasant and partridge.

  • Hunting fund no 41 "Urlati"

The main species of hunting interest existing on this fund are the rabbit, phaesant and partridge.

The main species of hunting interest of passage, on this background are thrush, kokoshnik, larks and quails.

 

  • Hunting fund no 42 "Malu Rosu"

The main species of hunting interest existing on this fund are deer, wild boar, rabbit, pheasant and partridge.

The main species of hunting interest of passage, on this background are thrush, kokoshnik and woodcock.

 

Hunters and Anglers Club Vălenii de Munte manages the funds  29 - Bâsca fara Cale, 31 - Caldaru Sanca, 32 -  Soimari, 33 - Nucet, 34 - Cazacu.

 

  • Hunting fund 34 - Cazacu - located across Valenii de Munte and the adjacent cities (Teisani, Izvoarele, Gura Vitioarei) and has a total area of 9178 ha., of which 2023 ha. forest, 4370 ha. arable, 2785 ha. pastures.

The main tree species are oak, beech. Disseminated are found species as wild cherry, hornbeam, willow, poplar, pear, apple tree, linden, locust.

The main game sedentary species encountered in the hunting are: wild boar, rabbit, pheasant, fox, deer, partridge, wild cat, marten.

Occasionally longer signals copies bear, wolf.

Among migratory species, mention quail, turtle dove, woodcock.
